The ONE APUS Voyage 006E, which suffered collapsed containers while the vessel was enroute to Long Beach, CA, is now berthed in Kobe, Japan.
To date indications, from our partner ONE, are that the on deck impacted container bays were unsafe for close-quarter inspection. However, it appears that the number of lost or damaged on deck units could be significant. As the vessel is now safely berthed a full inspection of the vessel and its cargo can take place with the assistance of local services.
Once the vessel and cargo are declared safe the process of assessing the damage in full will commence with the next objective being the safe removal of the remaining units.
Once that is complete a thorough evaluation of the vessel can be made to determine the exact number and type of containers that have been lost or damaged.
We will share further updates as information and details become available.
