An Important Update on Invoicing for Storage and Reefer Plugin charges in Mundra, India
We are working on a faster invoicing process for Storage (STO) and Reefer Plugin (RCO) charges for the port of Mundra. These are charges that originate from shut outs and roll overs caused by customer errors such as missed submission of mandatory information, documents, and customers’ request, among others. Starting on August 12, 2021, this process will involve the introduction of the application of slab-based charges as follows:
Please note the following exceptions for the above: Break Bulk cargo, 3 and more Rollovers, Back to Town Cases, Customs Hold, Late Arrival & SSR Loading on Actual Booking Vessel, Export - ICD Storage after Free Time Period.
With the above approach, we foresee the following changes:
- Eliminate late invoicing: With the above in place, we aim to invoice these charges once the rolled container has been loaded and sailed on the vessel, instead of generating two separate invoices.
- Timely payment and collection of documents: The invoices (as applicable) will be issued once the vessel has sailed. This will aid timely payment / pick up of documents in one go.
- Transparency of application: By charging this as a standard cost, we are aiming at increased transparency and standardization.
