Updates for our North Europe – South America West Coast Service (SWX)

At the end of June, we shared an update concerning our North Europe - South America West Coast Service (SWX) where the Le Havre, France port calls would be suspended for a period., please note that the port of call at Le Havre, France will be extended until the end of 2021.

Keeping your cargo planning in mind, we have a few options for your consideration:

  • Import cargo from Latin America will be routed via our Atlantic Loop 5 (AL5) service into Le Havre.
  • Export cargoes from Le Havre will have weekly departures on the same AL5 service for further transshipment at Hamburg, Germany onto the SWX service. There will also be alternative inland solutions via the port of Antwerp, Belgium to be loaded directly onto a SWX vessel.

Furthermore, we will suspend the port call at Puerto Angamos, Chile until further notice starting with immediate effect. For your reference, this will apply to exports starting with MV SANTOS EXPRESS Voyage No. 1229N and for imports (loading from Europe) starting with MV CARTAGENA EXPRESS Voyage 1234S.

The export cargoes from Puerto Angamos will be accepted and routed via San Antonio, Chile and then loaded onto SWX vessels. The import cargoes to Puerto Angamos from Europe and other origins will be accepted on SWX vessels with trans shipment via Callao, Peru to be reloaded onto various adjacent services, calling Puerto Angamos.

If you require more information related to the above changes, please visit the Online Business Suite in the Hapag-Lloyd website. As an alternative, please contact our customer service team at your location who will be glad to guide you based on your individual situation.
