Shipping with our WWA, WA1 and WAX services? Here's an update for your cargo planning

We’re constantly working towards increased operational excellence and flexibility, and with our commitment to our customers, we are reinforcing our services in the African continent. Therefore, from April 2024 we will be revamping our West-Europe-West-Africa (WWA) and West Africa Express (WAX) services with complete operational versatility to reassure our support to your cargo planning.

With the revamped WWA and WAX services, our customers will benefit from the new direct calls from North Europe to Tema, Ghana. In addition, both of these services will cover the geographical scope of the MWX service, which will be discontinued.

The WWA service’s new rotation will cover the following ports*:

  • Antwerp, Belgium -> Le Havre, France  -> Lisbon, Portugal  -> Tanger Med, Morocco  -> Tema, Ghana -> Pointe Noire, Congo  -> Luanda, Angola -> Libreville, Gabon -> Antwerp, Belgium
  • Kribi, Cameroon will be served via Pointe Noire, Congo connecting to our AWA service.

The first vessel sailing in the WWA service will be MV Dachan Bay Express V. 2417S, estimated to arrive in Antwerp, Belgium on April 22, 2024.

*A note on our WWA service: its rotation will be modified to cover the citrus season in South Africa, and hence provide a direct service from Durban and Coega to North Europe, with connection to North America and South Europe via Tangier. This extension from end May through September is known as Citrus Connect in the South Africa trade. Please review our CustomerNEWS section for the latest updates and subscribe to our CustomerNEWS email.

The WAX service’s new rotation will cover the following ports:

Tanger Med, Morocco -> Dakar, Senegal -> Apapa, Nigeria -> Tincan, Nigeria -> Cotonou, Benin -> Abidjan, Ivory Coast -> Tema, Ghana -> Tanger Med, Morocco

The first vessel sailing in the revised WAX service will be MV Vancouver Star V. 2416S, estimated to arrive in Tanger Med, Morocco on April 21, 2024

In case you're wondering about our WA1, its port coverage will continue without changes:

  • Tanger Med, Morocco -> Noaukchott, Mauritania -> Conakry, Guinea -> Freetown, Sierra Leone -> Monrovia, Liberia -> San Pedro, Ivory Coast -> Banjul, Gambia.
