Here's an update for Port-au-Prince bookings and operations

***Update November 25, 2024***

The situation is almost normal again and we are able to accept new bookings to Port-au-Prince.

***Update October 22, 2024***

After several weeks of restrictions, we were able to perform our first call in Port-au-Prince on October 20, discharging the first containers. The Haiti-bound cargo waiting in transshipment ports will be evacuated as soon as possible. However, considering the volume, we expect that it will take a few weeks to resume normal cargo flows to Haiti.

Please remember that you can check the status of your shipment in our Online Business Suite: Tracking – Access Your Container Transport Data - Hapag-Lloyd. Or if you require additional information, please contact our customer service team at your location, who will assist you with your individual situation.

***Update September 27, 2024***

For the past few weeks, Haiti has experienced operational disruptions in Port-au-Prince due by civil unrest. Due to this, there is a temporary booking restriction. The Government is making every effort to restore security to the port facilities.

We are closely monitoring the situation and will resume our operation as soon as it is safe to proceed.

For the cargo already in transit to Port-au-Prince, we are looking for other alternatives. If you require additional information, please contact our customer service team at your location, who will be happy to assist you.

*** Update May 21, 2024 ***

Following the latest developments in Haiti, we are now accepting new bookings to Port-au-Prince, Haiti.

*** Update April 25, 2024 ***

Following our update from March 7, 2024 and the recent events in Haiti, please note that the cargo hold in transit will be delivered to Port-au-Prince in the coming weeks. As soon as the operation allows it, we will proceed to accept new bookings.

*** Update March 7, 2024 ***

For the past weeks, Haiti has experienced a high level of street violence and civil unrest throughout Port-au-Prince and provinces. This situation is affecting all sectors of the country's economy. Therefore, ports and terminal facilities are surpassing their capacity and Customs Clearance processes have been suspended.

In the current scenario, we are temporarily applying a booking restriction for all imports into Port-au-Prince, Haiti with immediate effect. The booking restriction will be in place until further notice.

If you should require additional information, please contact our customer service team at your location, who will be happy to guide you based on your individual situation.
