Update: ICS2 EU Advanced Customs Filing - Reminder on Multiple Filing

Regulations Europe

On April 1, 2025, the implementation deadline for ICS2 Release 3 for house filers in maritime transport officially ended. House-level filing became legally mandatory.

To support the transition, the EU Commission granted a grace period until September 1, 2025. As this date is approaching, we’d like to remind customers who choose not to share house-level and/or buyer and seller data with Hapag-Lloyd that they must ensure this data is submitted either directly or via a certified service provider to EU Customs.

In such cases, please include the EORI number of the next filing party (self-filer / supplementary declarant) with your shipping instructions.

The deadline to submit your partial Entry Summary Declaration (ENS) remains aligned with the ocean carrier timeline – at least 24 hours before arrival of vessel in the non-EU port of loading.

Please note: After the grace period, "not yet connected" will no longer be accepted as justification. If data is missing in ICS2, Customs may hold your shipments due to an incomplete ENS.

Be sure to check the Multiple Filing factsheet for important information.

We understand these new requirements may be challenging, and we're here to support you through this transition.
