Operations are back to normal for the port of Antwerp however, a backlog from the national strike actions last week and the Pilot strike actions is still being worked through.

Currently no further actions of the Pilot unions are announced but the situation remains dynamic.

We will closely monitor the situation and share updates as necessary.

  • A general strike in Belgium will halt vessel traffic between 1 and 3 pm CEST. Pilot services are expected to resume afterward, though not yet confirmed.

  • At the Zandvliet Traffic Control Centre, reduced staffing from 7:30 pm today until 7:30 am on October 15, 2025 will suspend all maritime and inland navigation to and from Antwerp.

  • In Rotterdam, lashing personnel resumed work at 7 am today following a court order. Negotiations continue until Friday, October 18, after which strike action may resume if no agreement is reached.

We would like to inform you of ongoing industrial actions that may affect port operations in the Netherlands and Belgium:

  • Rotterdam: The work stoppage by lashing companies, originally planned for 48h since October 8, currently leads to delays of up to 2 days in vessel loading and unloading.
  • Belgium (Antwerp & Zeebrugge): Limited pilot activity may result in delays of approximately 3 days, as pilot services are currently operating on restricted schedules.

Please note that delays may continue in the days following the official strike as operations work to catch up.

Rest assured that our teams are closely monitoring developments and coordinating with port partners to reduce any impact. We apologize for any inconvenience and will communicate any significant updates or contingency measures through our usual channels.
