Gemini Network 2026 – Service Enhancements in 2026

As part of the continuous optimization of our Gemini network, we are implementing targeted service enhancements starting April 2026. Schedule reliability remains stable at a minimum of 90 percent, while further improvements strengthen market coverage and accelerate products on key Asia - Europe and Mediterranean trades.

In addition, our new Service Explorer tool increases transparency across the global network, providing clearer insights into service structures and rotations.

Below you will find the changes structured by service, including the updated rotations.

Far East - North Europe
 

What’s new for you:

  • Direct call at Antwerp
  • Improved hinterland connectivity for Benelux and European cargo flows

New Rotation:

Shanghai –> Yantian –> Tanjung Pelepas –> Rotterdam –> Antwerp –> Hamburg –> London Gateway –> Tangier –> Singapore

What’s new for you:

  • New Baltic calls: Aarhus and Gothenburg
  • Southampton becomes final European outbound call, strengthening UK export flows
  • Yantian replaces Ningbo in Asia, enhancing Pearl River Delta connectivity options

New Rotation:

Shanghai –> Yantian –> Tanjung Pelepas –> London Gateway –> Aarhus –> Gothenburg –> Rotterdam –> Southampton –> Singapore

What’s new for you:

  • Direct Ningbo – Germany connection
  • One of the fastest products in the market from Ningbo to Germany
  • Reversion to its previous rotation without the Baltic loop, which is now covered by the NE3

Far East – Mediterranean

  • Added Algeciras westbound and eastbound
  • Market-leading transit times for Spain and adjacent markets
  • Improved Adriatic connectivity through streamlined rotation

New Rotation:

Ningbo –> Shanghai –> Tanjung Pelepas –> Algeciras –> Koper –> Rijeka –> Algeciras –> Singapore

What’s new for you:

  • Upgrade to 20,000 TEU vessels
  • Increased capacity and enhanced product strength
  • Simplified rotation for improved schedule robustness
  • Istanbul and Izmit served via dedicated shuttle connections
  • Calls at Port Said East and new Damietta terminal

New Rotation:

Qingdao –> Kwangyang –> Ningbo –> Tanjung Pelepas –> Port Said East –> Damietta –> Colombo –> Singapore


As part of our ongoing network optimization, Hapag-Lloyd and Maersk plan to route the SE1 and SE3 services via the Red Sea and Suez Canal at a later stage. We will inform you in advance once implementation timelines are confirmed, so you can plan accordingly.
 

New digital tool: In parallel, Hapag-Lloyd is launching the online “Service Explorer” that provides an interactive, data-driven overview of its global network. Applicable to all Hapag-Lloyd services, the “Service Explorer” enhances transparency on routings, connections and transit times, further supporting ease of doing business for customers worldwide.
