Implementation of Emergency Operational Recovery Surcharge at Khorfakkan Commercial Terminal
Please be advised that, in line with the advisory issued by Gulftainer, an Emergency Operational Recovery Surcharge will be implemented at Khorfakkan Commercial Terminal (KCT) in the United Arab Emirates (UAE).
Starting March 15, 2026 and until further notice, an Emergency Operational Recovery Surcharge of USD 100 per container will apply to all containers handled at KCT for vessels berthing at the terminal. For FMC trades, this surcharge will apply 30 days after the effective date and until further notice.
This surcharge will apply to all applicable containerized cargo handled at KCT, including but not limited to:
- Gateway cargo
- Transshipment cargo
- Reefer containers
- Dangerous goods (IMO)
- Bonded cargo
Hapag-Lloyd will recover this surcharge under the following charge codes:
- RHD – for import containers
- RHO – for export containers
