Introduction of Emergency Operation Charge (EOO/EOD) for Feeder-Served Locations

Strait of Hormuz Surcharges Middle East and Indian Subcontinent

At Hapag-Lloyd, we continuously strive to provide reliable and efficient transport solutions across our global network.

Recently, there has been an increase in operational costs in certain areas of our network that use feeder services. These cost increases are driven by rising fuel expenses, which have significantly impacted the cost of operating these services.

To address these challenges and to maintain the quality and reliability of our service offering, we will introduce an Emergency Operation Charge (EOO/EOD). This measure will be implemented regionally and is intended to support the recovery of the increased operational costs.

Please note that this charge may apply to shipments where the origin and/or destination is served via a feeder service.

Further details regarding the scope, charge levels, effective dates, and any applicable regulatory considerations - including, where necessary, alternative implementation approaches - will be communicated separately through regional customer announcements.

Should you have any questions, please contact your local Hapag-Lloyd representative, who will be happy to assist you.
