Reopening of Bookings to Upper Gulf Locations
**Last updated on July 28, 2026**
We are pleased to inform you that bookings to and from the Upper Gulf are available through hinterland options as well as third-party feeder services. This setup enables connectivity for cargo movements involving Kuwait, Saudi Arabia, Iraq, Qatar, Bahrain and the United Arab Emirates, without transiting the Strait of Hormuz.
What this means for you:
Cargo booked to United Arab Emirates
- Cargo destined to Your United Arab Emirates will be transshipped via Fujairah or Khorfakkan before moving by landbridge solutions to final destination.
Cargo booked to Kuwait, Iraq, Qatar, Bahrain
- Your cargo can be transshipped via Fujairah or Khorfakkan before moving by landbridge to Jebel Ali or Sharjah. From there, it will connect to the final destination through the intra-Gulf feeder network.
Cargo to Dammam or Jubail
- Cargo destined to Dammam or Jubail will continue to move through the established Jeddah landbridge solution.
As gateways for Upper Gulf bookings, Fujairah and Khorfakkan provide connections to ports in Oman and India and onward access to the mainline network.
Operational notes:
- Feeder rotations do not operate on a fixed weekly schedule and remain subject to transit safety conditions in the region
- Lead time for bonded transport between Fujairah/Khorfakkan and Jebel Ali/Sharjah is approximately 5 days
Please note that the Carrier’s Haulage solution via Jeddah is no longer available for cross-border movements to the Upper Gulf until further notice. This also applies to cargo booked with Merchant’s Haulage Jeddah and destined for a consignee located outside of Saudi Arabia.
