Here’s an update on the Rhine River low water surcharge

Surcharges Europe Germany

The low water levels on the Rhine River are again affecting barge transport due to draft restrictions. Please be reminded that the current low water pass-through surcharge remains in place for import and export cargo until further notice.

Conditions may worsen to the point that barge transport becomes operationally unviable. If water levels reach or fall below 30cm at Emmerich, 180cm at Duisburg-Ruhrort, 105cm at Cologne, or 80cm at Kaub, transportation cannot be guaranteed.
