GTI Advisory - Update on Billing Process for DPD-CFS Movements – Effective 1st January 2026
We would like to inform you of an important update in our billing process for DPD-CFS movements, effective January 1, 2026. After a comprehensive review and discussions with Customs authorities, under the guidance of the Commissioner of Customs, Nhava Sheva – III, JNCH, we will transition to a system where storage charges will be billed directly to shipping lines instead of importers. This change aligns with the practice already followed by other terminals at JNPA and will now be standardized across all terminals. This will help reduce dwell time for import containers and will support JNPA's and the country's ambition of reducing turnaround time for cargo in and out of the country across the logistics supply chain. We also believe this change is a necessary step to support the continued growth of trade at Nhava Sheva. APMT Mumbai is committed to streamlining back-end processes to further enhance efficiency and business continuity.
The new billing matrix has already been tested and is ready for transition. Starting January 1, 2026, all import DPD-CFS containers landed at GTI will be invoiced under the revised billing matrix for storage and other terminal charges. Please note that this change applies only to DPD-CFS customers; all other billing processes will remain unchanged.
