Due to deteriorating weather conditions in the Atlantic, the Tangier Port Authority has announced the temporary closure of Tanger Med Port to ensure the safety of vessels, crews, cargo, and port operations.

Closure details:

  • Start: Feb 4th, 12 am (local time)
  • End: Feb 5th, 5 pm (local time)
  • Duration: 41 hours
  • Forecast: Wind gusts exceeding 120 km/h and a dangerous swell of up to 5 meters

Status of other regional ports:

  • Algeciras Port will close today at 8 pm local time, prospects to open on Thu Feb 5th PM.
  • Other nearby ports – including Casablanca, Lisbon, Leixões, and Vigo – remain open, with no official closures announced at this time.
