United Kingdom London Gateway updated delivery requirements for UN3536 Class 9

Regulations Europe United Kingdom

Due to storage restrictions for Hazardous Class 9 – UN3536 at London Gateway Terminal, the terminal has limited the time this cargo may remain on the quay after discharge from the vessel.

Effective 1 April 2026, a storage charge of £150 per unit, per day will be applied if the unit is not collected from the terminal within 24 hours of discharge or any unit that is gated into the terminal more than 24 hours prior vessel arrival.

UN3536 cargo is now aligned with other hazardous cargo types at London Gateway that may only be stored on the quay for 24 hours, after which the above charges apply:

  • Class 1.4 – Explosives
  • UN1649 – Class 6.1 – Anti Knock Mixture
  • UN3483 – Class 6.1 – Anti Knock Mixture
  • UN3536 – Class 9 – Container Energy Storage System (Lithium battery)
