Spain: Update on Inland Emergency Fuel & Energy Surcharges

With reference to our previous announcement, please note that we will adjust the Inland Fuel Floater (Diesel) for applicable inland services in Spain. This adjustment follows the continued volatility in international energy markets and the resulting fluctuations in diesel prices, which remain a key cost component of inland transportation and handling.

Inland Fuel Floater (Diesel) – applicability and levels

The following Inland Fuel Floater (Diesel) will apply:

  • Scope (FOI / FDI): Export / Import inland haulage from / to Spain.
  • Effective date: 1 July 2026 (all container types, all trades except shipments subject to FMC) .
  • Charge level: 0% on TRUCK (TR) transport and 0% on COMBINED RAIL (CR) transport (RAIL + TRUCK).
  • FMC shipments: Same levels will apply for all container types for shipments subject to FMC as from 1 August 2026.
  • Above levels and dates refer to Emergency Fuel (FOI/FDI) only.

Fuel Surcharge (FSO/FSD)

  • The Fuel Surcharge (FSO/FSD), applicable for all container types and trades remain unchanged at current levels:
  • 14% for TRUCK (TR).
  • 8% for COMBINED RAIL (CR).

Tariff date criteria

  • The charge will be applied based on the following tariff dates:
  • Import: Pick-up date of the container from the port.
  • Export (FMC): Gate-in full date at the Origin Port.
  • Export (non-FMC): Vessel departure date.
