Australia, New Zealand: Here’s an update on Terminal Handling Charges

Please note that, due to rising terminal handling costs imposed by terminal operators across Australia and New Zealand, we have reviewed our Terminal Handling Charges (THC) to align with these increased operating costs.

The updated Terminal Handling Charges apply from August 15, 2026, and are valid until further notice.

For your reference, please visit the THC tariff landing page on the Hapag-Lloyd website for details of the applicable local charges for Australia and New Zealand. Hapag-Lloyd provides Terminal Handling Charge information through its tariff and local-charge resources.

The Ocean Tariff rates, as well as Bunker-related surcharges, Security-related surcharges, Peak Season Surcharges, if applicable, and other Terminal Handling Charges remain unchanged as announced. Other local charges and contingency surcharges may apply in addition. This wording is consistent with Hapag-Lloyd’s existing Terminal Handling Charge announcements.
