Germany: 24-hour warning strike at German seaports may affect operations

Following the failure of the latest round of collective bargaining, ver.di has announced a second warning strike at German seaports. The strike began on September 2, 2026, at 23:00 hrs and is scheduled to last for 48 hours.
Operational disruptions at the affected terminals are expected during the strike period. We are closely monitoring the situation together with our terminals and operational partners.
Contingency measures have been implemented where needed to minimize the impact. Customers directly affected by operational changes will be informed through the usual channels.
A 24-hour warning strike called by ver.di is currently underway at six German seaports: Hamburg, Bremerhaven, Bremen, Wilhelmshaven, Emden and Brake. The strike began on the evening of August 17, 2026.
