Netherlands, Germany: New weekly rail connection between Rotterdam and Germersheim

To support inland capacity and provide an additional transport option while water levels on the Rhine remain critical, a new weekly rail connection between Rotterdam and Germersheim will be available from September 18 until December 31, 2026.

The connection provides an alternative to our existing barge network and offers additional flexibility when planning inland transportation between Rotterdam and the Rhine region.

Key details

  • First export departure: September 18, 2026, with planned arrival in Rotterdam on September 19, 2026
  • First import departure: September 19, 2026, with planned arrival in Germersheim on September 21, 2026
  • Weekly capacity: 88 TEU in each direction
