Week 35 – Africa Operational Update

Middle East - India - Africa Express (MIAX)

• Dammam Express will phase out at the end of voyage 2634E. Phase out port TBC.
• Seaspan Lahore will phase out of the service at GHTEM on August 23 under v2628E.
• Mirador Express will PHIN into the service on September 1 at MUN under voyage 2635W.
• All Jebel Ali, AE port calls are suspended until further notice.

East Africa Service 2 (EAS2)

• All Jebel Ali, AE port calls are suspended until further notice.
• structural blank will be implemented in WK 32.

East Africa Service 3 (EAS3)

• Kota Gadang will phase out CNTAO on 23.08.2026.
• Kota Sabas will phase in CNTAO on 23.08.2026.

West Africa Service 1 (WA1)

• Service will now have 4 sailings and rotation extended to 28 days, starting from cycle 48, first sailing in MAPTM being August
• Puerto Limon Express to phase in on WK 33 position in MAPTM 
• Valencia Express slide to WK 34 position of MAPTM
• GH Foehn to phase out after MAPTM call on August 26 and to be replaced by Stadt Dresden

West Africa Service 2 (WA2)

• Cape Byron, Voyage 2632N, will omit LRMLW and SLFNA and will call GNCKY on an ad‑hoc basis on 22 August.
• Ulanga in voyage 2633N omits MRNKC,LRMLW and SLFNA and performs Ad Hoc call to GNCKY using lighter depth pier ( RORO berth) for quick turnaround.

West Africa Service 3 (WA3)

• AS Carelia, Voyage 2633N, will GMBJL&GNCKY. will call instead MRNKC (20/Aug), LRMLW 27/Aug) and SLFNA (08/Sep).
• Matilde A v2627N will omit GNCKY and call GMBJL on 12^th July and LRMLW on 17^th July (Adhoc).

South Africa – Asia Express 1 (SA1)

• COSCO ASHDOD will phase out CNSHA on 23.08.2026.
• XIN YANG SHAN will phase in CNSHA on 23.08.2026.
• HT CAPRICORN will phase in CNSHA on 30.08.2026.

South Africa – Asia Express 2 (SA2)

• SUNNY PHOENIX Phase in at CNTAO on 01/09/2026
• STAMATIS B Phase out at CNTAO on 01/09/2026
• CAP ANDREAS Phase out at CNTAO on 01/09/2026
• COSCO VALENCIA will phase in CNTAO on 08.09.2026

West Africa Express (WAX)

• New LTS has released covering the following structure changes:
  o  NB leg EGDAM call added begin with wk 34 first vessel is Merkur Ocean V. 2634N.
      - ESBCN NB call, Berth window advanced couple of hours start of Merkur Ocean V. 2634N.
      - MAPTM NB call, Berth window advanced couple of hours start of Shekou Star V.2635N.
  o  SB leg from Cycle 09 has some changes as below:
      - MACAS plus ESBCN removed out and replaced by ESVLC Wednesday window.
      - TRIZT terminal change to DPW from SAT 13:00 to Sun 09:00.
      - TRGEM window advanced to MON 1600 till TUE 17:00.
      - TRIST window reduced to 28 hrs. port stay i/o 36 hrs.
• Spirit of Singapore, Voyage 2633N, will omit TGLFW for schedule recovery, Reefers imports will be connected on Algeciras Express V.2632N, rest will be moved by Merkur Ocean 2634N.
• Shekou star will omit NGONN Voyage 2635N, imports rolled to following sailing "Seaspan Lumaco".
• Algeciras Express, Voyage2632N  perform a COR by call TGLFW first then GHTEM to move reefer volumes to Lome ex Spartel Trader.
• Ionikos P/IO out from ESBCN on 12/Aug, to perform two shuttle voyages (ESBCN-MACAS) as MACAS omitted in cycle 08 to stabilize the service.
• Seaspan Lumaco to P/I in MAPTM on 22/Aug Voyage 2632S.
• Spartel Trader v2635S will phase out at MAPTM on the 10th Sep. Replacement vessel, Ionikos V2635S will phase in at MAPTM on the 12TH Sep.

South Africa Express (SAX)

• MV Santa Ursula v.633S makes a COR calling Rotterdam, NL (August 12) before London Gateway, GB (August 14).
• Santa Cruz Maersk v834S phase in date and port changed to Rotterdam on 21-August.

West Europe – West Africa Service (WWA)

• During Citrus season, Tin Can will no longer be a port of call. The WWA Rotation will change as follows starting from API Bhum v2617N – Port Elizabeth 6^th June 2026:
  
   Antwerp > Le Havre, Lisbon > Tanger Med > Tema > Pointe Noire > Luanda >  Port Elizabeth > Luanda >  Tanger Med > Rotterdam > Antwerp
  
  
• API Bhum v.2629N will change rotation, calling Luanda on 21-August before Pointe Noire on 23-august. Vessel will omit Tin Can and proceed directly to Antwerp on 8-September.

South America – Africa – Triangle Service (SAT)

• Irenes Wisdom makes an ad-hoc call at Port Elizabeth (eta 4-Sep) and will slide one week in Brazil, taking the current blank position which in turn advances one week. Due to this blank week advancement, there will be no sailing from Durban on October 13 and Luanda on October 22.

West Africa

• Dakar, Senegal Currently facing up to 48 hrs. delay, Yard is 88+%. 
• Conakry, Guinea, Berthing Based on new berthing proposals FCFS with 1 vessel per/line. Current delays remain same up to 24+ days. 
• Monrovia, Liberia: Yard is congested, current berth delays for window vessels is up to 2 days. Seasonal rains impacting terminal ops. 
• Abidjan, Ivory Coast Yard is heavily congested, current berth delays for window vessels is up to 8 days. Terminal recovery plan is active, expected up to 6-7 weeks to improve. 
• Tema, Ghana: Terminal is facing crane outage (1 crane down) /Terminal congestion issues. Berthing delays for window vessels are up to 04-06 days. OOW subject to berth availability. No Ad-Hoc callers. 
• Nigeria (APP): Ops slowdowns are reported due to heavy rains and congestion at yard. Current ops delays reported up to 24 hrs. 
• Nigeria (TICT): Due to high yard congestions, terminal performance impacted. Currently, up to 24 hrs. Berth delays.
• BJCOO:  No delays for window vessels if docs ready status, OOW subject to berth availability. 

Central Africa

• Douala, Cameroon, on average 48 hrs due to seasonal rains.
• Kribi, Cameroon: Up to 24 hrs waiting time are reported (due to intermittent rains).
• Matadi, Congo DRC. Congo river max draft advised at 7.5 meters, strong currents on the river. Matadi Gateway Terminal works max 1 vessel per day. 
• Pointe Noire, Congo: Operating As normal, Feeder waiting berth time is high side, mainly for connections from mainliners.  
• Luanda, Angola: Operating as normal.

 South Africa

• Durban, South Africa Peir 1 up to 24 hrs. delays & Peir 2 is up to 2-3 days, however, to be monitored case by case considering weather conditions. 
• Cape Town, South Africa, currently facing high wind guts. Current delays up to 1 day for CTCT up to 24-48 hrs.  
• CTMPT: up to 24 hrs. due to wind impact considering seasonal impact, this remains (on-off) until Feb ends. 
• Port Elizabeth: Impacted by Bad weather (strong wind and rains), expecting 2-3 days delay. 
• Coega : Impacted by Bad weather (strong wind and rains), expecting 2-3 days delay. 

  East Africa

Dar es Salaam, Tanzania

• DPW: up to 24-48 hours waiting time due to berth sequence. Terminal gate and road congested causing delays 
• Adani: up to 48 hours waiting time due to berth sequence. 
• Mombasa, Kenya, For EA2, average berthing delays are up to 3 days. Other SSYs average up to 10+ days waiting time. Terminal is facing Long-term congestion, slow productivity due to equipment shortages, high transshipment volumes. Berth delays also are due to a bunch of vessels arriving off w

To guide you on this upgrade, which is starting on July 1, 2023,, here's a summary of your inland options:

1. Shipper's PDA: Empty pickup at port or Inland Container Depot (ICD) and handover at port. To access this service, select "Port of loading " and mention the "Pick-up at ICD". Please keep in mind that the empty pickup origin fee (POO) will apply and BL would only read port of loading and not “ICD location”
2. Rail ex-ICD (on Liner PDA): Empty pickup and container handover at an ICD. To access this service, please select "Received at terminal / ramp" and mention the handover ICD. Please note that rail pre-carriage charges (OLF) will apply. The empty pickup origin fee (POO) is included.
3. First Mile trucking: Hapag-Lloyd empty positioning and handover at ICD or port. To access this service, select "Received at your door" and detail the pickup location details. Please note that pre-carriage charges (OLF) for trucking and rail (for ICD movements) will apply. The empty pickup origin fee (POO) is included.

The ongoing Suez Canal situation has resulted in changes and adjustments in the shipping industry, in particular for vessels in the Middle East and India markets where space on board vessels is limited. To alleviate that and to ensure you do not face issues when booking with us, we are implementing changes to our booking process with immediate effect:

1. This means that you will be able to place bookings for up to three subsequent weeks available sailings. With this restriction, we are ensuring space availability options by preventing early bookings.
2. Booking Monitoring: we are working to ensure that all of our customers get an equal chance to load on our ships. Therefore, we're monitoring bookings for every vessel at a customer level and will discourage bulk bookings or bookings that exceed the mutually agreed quantity.
3. Booking Amendment Policy: with your cargo flow in mind and to ensure a clear overview of your cargo on our vessels, booking in advance will not be feasible. If you require amending a booking to a previous week's vessel , please cancel your existing booking and place a new one.
4. Last Minute Space Availability: to provide you with an extended opportunity to secure bookings, we will strive to keep our Quick Quotes Spot product open until the last minute.
5. Shipping Guarantee: when feasible, you can opt for our Shipping Guarantee product to protect your shipment from potential rollovers.
6. Track Your Shipments: you can use our track and trace feature to identify the vessel on which your cargo has been loaded. Due to the current circumstances, you can then view the latest updates and status of the assigned vessel directly on our Live Ticker. This link will guide you through the actual vessel status, including its next port of call.
