The arrival date of our vessel MV Northern Democrat V. 2026E headed to Paranagua, Brazil has changed

The vessel MV Northern Democrat V. 2026E that was scheduled to arrive in Paranagua, Brazil on June 28, 2021 will be arriving at a later date. This vessel is being phased into our South Africa Triangle Service (SAT) linking the East Coast of South America and South of Africa. However, while the vessel was on her way to Paranagua, Brazil, the sad news of the passing of one of the crew members was shared by the ship owners. The vessel is currently quarantined off the coast of Ecuador where a few other crew members have tested positive for COVID-19 and are currently under medical observation.

On behalf of Hapag-Lloyd, we would like to express our condolences to the family of the deceased. Our thoughts are also with the vessel’s crew members who are going through this very trying time.

Considering the above events, the exact arrival dates to Paranagua, Brazil will be communicated as soon as they are available. With your cargo planning in mind, we would like to present you with the following options for export cargo:

  1. You have the option to rebook your cargo scheduled for departure by modifying your current booking.
  2. If you take no action, your gated-in cargo will automatically be booked to the next available vessel.
  3. If these options are not workable for you and you would prefer to talk to one of our customer service representatives, please contact your local office. They look forward assisting and presenting you with all the workable options that might be suitable for your individual situation.

We would like to remind you that this situation is not permanent and that MV Northern Democrat V. 2026E will continue her scheduled phase-in voyage as soon as this sad situation is overcome.
