***Live Ticker: Last Update February 16, 2026***

Weather conditions have improved, allowing terminals to resume normal operations as of the morning of Saturday, 14 February. Based on the current forecast, conditions are expected to remain stable throughout the week, and no port closures are anticipated at this stage.
Despite this positive development, the overall impact on operations has been significant, particularly on inbound cargo flows across all terminals. The earlier disruption has led to increased yard density and operational pressure, which will require time to fully normalize.
Our teams continue to closely monitor weather developments, yard utilization, and overall operational conditions to mitigate any further impact and support network stability. Further updates will be provided should the situation change.

There has been no material improvement in weather conditions in the Bay of Biscay, with wave heights of up to 10 meters continuing to impact vessel transits. This situation remains disruptive to arrivals and departures across the North Europe network. Based on the current forecast a renewed period of severe weather is expected from 11 to 13 February, with strong winds and high waves that may cause further delays and negatively impact schedule reliability, particularly due to potential vessel sheltering.

In addition, the continues severe weather conditions impacting the Western Mediterranean ports operations further pressures the overall network recovery.

Terminals in North Europe are operating at full capacity, as ice and snow conditions have cleared. But the effects of the earlier network disruption persist and will take time to normalize. In particular, terminals continue to face high yard utilization and disrupted line-ups as a result of service disruption and vessel bunching.

Our teams are closely monitoring the situation and assessing the ongoing impact on the network. Further updates will be shared as conditions evolve.

Please note that any additional costs arising as a consequence of these severe weather conditions will be for the account of the cargo. Should you have any questions or require further assistance, please contact your local teams.

With your cargo planning in mind, adverse weather patterns continue to pose industry-wide operational challenges across Europe. Passage through the Bay of Biscay has resumed; however, due to ongoing short-term weather fluctuations, conditions have not improved consistently. With waves of up to 7 meters in the Bay of Biscay and wind speeds of up to 120 km/h in the West Mediterranean, vessel traffic and port operations continue to be restricted.

Several vessels remain in shelter to ensure the safety of your cargo, crew, and vessels.

  • NE2 – Al Nefud
Al Nefud is now expected to resume her voyage on February 7, 2025, following two aborted departure attempts from Northern Europe due to severe wave conditions in the Bay of Biscay.

Detailed operational updates on the situation in Europe will be published via the button below as additional information becomes available.

As a result, existing operational restrictions remain in place - originally caused in early January by severe winter weather in Northern Europe and now by weather conditions in the Bay of Biscay. Recovery is expected to be gradual.

Weather conditions in the Biscay area are expected to improve as of Monday evening, February 9, 2025 (according to the current forecast). Operational challenges are likely to persist longer, as vessels are expected to arrive in more concentrated patterns, which may cause congestion in terminal line-ups.

Our teams are actively evaluating the situation and the network impact and are taking optimal decisions. Be assured that we are doing our utmost to minimize the impact on your supply chain and to maintain continuity of service under these conditions.

Please note that any additional costs arising as a consequence of these severe weather conditions will be for the account of the cargo. Should you have any questions or require further assistance, please contact your local teams.
