Hi Cristian, it’s very nice to have you here to share your impressions of Quick Quotes. Can you quickly introduce yourself to our readers and tell us a little bit about your company?
Cristian: My name is Cristian Álvarez. I am the general manager of Compañía de Transporte Marítimo, an international freight forwarder located in Valparaíso, Chile. We move just over 4,000 containers per year in Chile. Our primary market is Latin America, and the strongest point is Peru. In fact, we are the leading freight forwarder moving cargo between Chile and Peru.

As one of the leading freight forwarders, how did you manage to become so successful? What are some of the requirements and needs your customers relay to you and how do you solve them?
Cristian: Our customers basically need two things: To save money and save time. The big challenge is coping with the increasing competition that we are seeing today. There is a lot of competition in our field of freight forwarding today. And the truth is that the quickest to respond ultimately gets the job.
Things have changed a lot; the business is very, very dynamic. New situations crop up every day – routes open, routes close – and we have to be able to adapt quickly in order to continue satisfying our customers’ requirements. Our customers ask us to provide solutions to their problems and they are satisfied and feel we are doing our job by helping them save money and time.
