Ghana – Implementation of Cargo Tracking Notes (CTN)

Following the decree by the Ghana Revenue Authority (GRA) as per ref: 006 / 18, dated June 19, 2018, we would like to draw your attention to the implementation of CTN (Cargo Tracking Notes) for all shipments entering Ghana, with a new effective date of October 15, 2018. (Shipped on Board date)

The CTN process and supply of information as well as supporting documents on the global online platform is the sole responsibility of Shipper / Exporter / Forwarder at Port of Loading.

Please note Authorities are requesting the following documentation:

  • Before container load, a valid CTN number must be entered during shipping instructions submission
  • A valid CTN number (from the Pre-Validated CTN Certificate) must be inserted on the B/L and manifest and it must be populated on all shipping documents
  • Without a valid CTN number, no container would be loaded on intended vessel as from October 15, 2018 (Shipped on Board date)
