As the situation in Türkiye develops, we have an update concerning export and import cargo.

  • Exports from Iskenderun
    • The acceptance of new export bookings from Iskenderun has been suspended until the terminal recovers from the damages it suffered. At this moment, there is no information about the terminal's reopening timeline.
    • The existing bookings with no empty containers' pickups will have to be cancelled because this terminal cannot be used under the current circumstances. A booking cancellation fee for these bookings will not be applied. As an option, you can proceed with new bookings from Mersin.
    • The existing bookings with containers already picked up but not yet gated in will need to be diverted via Mersin or any other port.
  • Imports to Iskenderun
    • The acceptance of new import bookings to Iskenderun has also been suspended until the terminal is able to recover and be operational again. For your cargo planning, please note that we are accepting new import bookings to Mersin.
    • The existing bookings with no empty containers' pickup will have to be cancelled because this terminal cannot be used under the current circumstances. A booking cancellation fee for these bookings will not be applied. As an option, you can proceed with new bookings to Mersin.
    • For the existing bookings with containers already picked up or gated in at origin, we recommend to proceed with Change of Destination. If this were not possible, please proceed with cargo unstuffing.
    • We are working on the most suitable solutions for the cargo that is already on the way to Iskenderun, but considering the circumstances we suggest to proceed with the Change of Destination (COD) requests.
    • No COD fee will be applied for existing bookings to Iskenderun. However please note that COD is subject to potential freight differences and container restow and capacity constraints.
  • We are waiting for the terminal's information about the full export containers gated in at Iskenderun, as well as the import containers discharged there. We will be sharing updates as soon as they are made available.

February 8, 2023

On Monday, February 6, 2023, Türkiye and Syria were hit by an earthquake. While the total extent of the damages continues to be evaluated, our thoughts and good wishes are with all those affected by this situation.

On the operational front, the north the İskenderun Limak terminal was damaged due to the strong earthquakes that affected the region. The epicenter was Kahramanmaraş and ships are currently not able to operate at the port.

As you might have seen in the media, a fire broke out at the container terminal in the evening of the same day. The fire has now been extinguished, and the damage assessment is currently pending. Despite the difficult situation, our teams are working hard to keep the information flow on the developments.

We know that you will be expecting updates in connection with your cargo planning, and therefore, please keep visiting this page for additional information.
