Shipping from Asia to South Africa? A PSS is coming up

A Peak Season Surcharge (PSS) from Asia & Oceania* to South Africa** is coming into effect. This PSS is applicable to all container types from June 6, 2024, until further notice. 

For your reference, the details of this PSS are listed below. To view the countries covered, you can scroll to the bottom of this article:

From mainland China to South Africa**:

  • USD 1000 per TEU

From Asia & Oceania*, except mainland China to South Africa**

  • USD 1000 per TEU
  • This PSS will be charged on top of the existing (CGD) Congestion Surcharge announced on November 7, 2023.

From *Asia & Oceania: Brunei, Cambodia, China, Hong Kong, Indonesia, Japan, Korea, Laos, Macau, Malaysia, Myanmar, Philippines, Singapore, Taiwan, Thailand, Vietnam, Australia, Cook Islands, Fiji, Micronesia, New Caledonia, New Zealand, French Polynesia, Papua New Guinea, Solomon Islands, Tonga, Vanuatu, Wallis and Futuna Island
To ** South Africa: Durban and Capetown
