Spain: Update on Inland Emergency Fuel & Energy Surcharges
With reference to our previous announcement, please note that we will adjust the Inland Fuel Floater (Diesel) for applicable inland services in Spain. This adjustment follows the continued volatility in international energy markets and the resulting fluctuations in diesel prices, which remain a key cost component of inland transportation and handling.
The following Inland Fuel Floater (Diesel) will apply:
- Fuel Origin / Destination Inland (FOI / FDI): Export / Import inland haulage from / to Spain
- Effective: June 1, 2026 for all trades except shipments subject to FMC, for which the surcharge will apply from June 27, 2026
- Charge Level: 3% on truck transport and 2% on combined rail (rail + truck) transport
- Equipment: all container types
- The above levels and dates refer to Emergency Fuel (FOI / FDI) only.
The Fuel Surcharge (FSO / FSD), applicable for all container types and trades, remains unchanged at the current levels:
- Truck transport: 14%
- Combined rail: 8%
- The charge will be applied according to the following criteria:
- Import: tariff date based on pick-up of the container from the port
- Export FMC: tariff date based on gate-in full date at origin port
- Export non-FMC: tariff date based on vessel departure date
