Italy: Update on Inland Emergency Fuel & Energy Surcharges

With reference to our previous announcement, please note that we will adjust the Inland Fuel Floater (Diesel) for applicable inland services in Italy. This adjustment follows the continued volatility in international energy markets and the resulting fluctuations in diesel prices, which remain a key cost component of inland transportation and handling.

The following Inland Fuel Floater (Diesel) will apply:

  • Fuel Origin / Destination Inland (FOI / FDI): Export / Import Inland Haulage from / to Italy
  • Effective: August 10th, 2026, for all trades except shipments subject to FMC, which will be valid from August 30th, 2026
  • Charge Level: 11,5% on TRUCK transport, 6% on COMBINED RAIL (RAIL+TRUCK), and 0% (zero) on RAIL (Rail only) transport (cancelled)
  • Equipment: all container types

The charge will be applied according to the following criteria:

  • Import: tariff date based on pick-up of the container from the port
  • Export FMC: tariff date based on gate in full date at original port
  • Export not FMC: tariff date based on vessel departure date
