Philippines: Booking suspension for Manila, Batangas and Subic Bay

Ports & Inland Asia Philippines

Due to continued congestion and severe constraints on depot and empty-container return capacity in the Philippines, Hapag-Lloyd has suspended the acceptance of new bookings to Manila, Batangas and Subic Bay across all origins and trade lanes.

The booking suspension is in effect and is currently scheduled to remain in place through December 31, 2026. Any change to this period will be communicated separately.

The affected destinations are:

Destination Location code
Manila PHMNL
Batangas PHBTG
Subic Bay PHSFS

These measures are necessary to limit additional pressure on the affected locations while we work with our local partners to address the backlog and improve container flows.

What this means for your shipments

  • New bookings: We are unable to accept new bookings to the destinations listed above during the suspension.
  • Existing bookings: Our Customer Service team will contact you directly if your booking is affected by a cancellation or requires revised arrangements.
  • Cargo already in transit: Please contact your local Customer Service representative for shipment-specific information and guidance.

We recognise the disruption this may cause to your supply chain and apologise for the inconvenience. Our teams continue to monitor the situation and will communicate changes to booking acceptance as conditions develop.

For assistance with an existing shipment, please contact your local Hapag-Lloyd Customer Service team or Sales representative, quoting your booking or bill of lading number.
