Here’s an update about the Ministry of Transport directive in Qatar

The Ministry of Transport (MoT), Maritime Transport Licensing Department, State of Qatar, has issued a directive under Law No. 12 of 2012 (Ref. No. MOT/MTLD/2025/193 dated 18 September 2025).

Effective January 1, 2026, all import and export transactions in Qatar must be conducted exclusively with freight forwarding companies authorized by the MoT.

What this means for you:

  • Delivery Orders (DOs), Bills of Lading (BLs), and related shipping services will only be processed for MoT- Authorised freight forwarders.
  • Customers are advised to review the directive carefully and ensure compliance in order to avoid any disruption to their import and export shipments.

We encourage our customers to duly inform all cargo interests at Loading Ports and Discharge Ports about this directive and ensure compliance. We sincerely request your cooperation in adhering to this requirement to ensure smooth handling of your cargo in line with the MoT directive.
