Italy: Update on Inland Emergency Fuel & Energy Surcharges
With reference to our previous announcement, please note that we will adjust the Inland Fuel Floater (Diesel) for applicable inland services in Italy. This adjustment follows the continued volatility in international energy markets and the resulting fluctuations in diesel prices, which remain a key cost component of inland transportation and handling.
Effective August 24, 2026, the following Inland Fuel Floater (Diesel) will apply to export and import inland haulage from and to Italy. For shipments subject to FMC regulations, the charge will be effective September 12, 2026.
The details are as follows:
- Scope: Fuel Origin / Destination Inland (FOI / FDI) – Export / Import Inland Haulage from / to Italy
- Truck transport: 15%
- Combined Rail (Rail & Truck): 7.5%
- Rail (Rail only): 0% – charge cancelled
- Equipment: All container types
The charge will be applied according to the following tariffing criteria:
- Import: Tariff date based on pick-up of the container from the port
- Export – FMC: Tariff date based on gate-in-full date at the original port
- Export – non-FMC: Tariff date based on vessel departure date
