India – Equipment Maintenance Fee (EMF) for Imports

We would like to inform you that Hapag-Lloyd will update the Equipment Maintenance Fee (EMF) in India for all import shipments effective April 1, 2018 (for FMC trades and non-FMC trades) as follows:

*Types of Material to be considered under Special Cargo:

All metal scrap such as iron/steel, aluminum, plastic, paper, metal pipes & any scrap material.

All kind of minerals in bulk/slabs/blocks such as ores, sand, lime, cement, tiles, marbles, granites, quartz, stones & construction materials.
All types of corrosive/contaminating (odor or stain) chemicals such as clove / naphtha salt, sugar, sulphur, fertilizer, carbon black, tire chips, wooden logs, timber, wooden boards & unpacked wooden articles.

The above charges are subject to Good and Services Tax at prevailing levels.

Charges will apply for all trades, including trades to and from Europe. The Ocean Base rates as well as Bunker related surcharges, Terminal Handling, Security related surcharges, Peak Season surcharges (if applicable) and other charges remain unchanged and for European trades these can be found here. Other local charges and contingency surcharges may apply.
