Shipping from Asia to Europe? Here is an update on the Heavy Lift Surcharge (HLC)
An adjustment of the Heavy Lift Surcharge (HLC) from Asia to North Europe and the Mediterranean is coming up. The Heavy Lift Surcharge (HLC) is applicable for all 20’ Containers with a gross weight of 20 tons and above and will be updated as from December 19, 2025 (tariffing date) until further notice.
The details of this surcharge are listed below:
- USD 400 per 20’ starting from 20 tons up to 34 tons gross weight
- USD 450 per 20’ starting from 34 tons up to 55 tons gross weight
For your reference, the geographical scope of this adjustment is explained below:
*Asia: Brunei, Cambodia, China, Hong Kong, Indonesia, Japan, Korea, Laos, Macau, Malaysia, Myanmar, Philippines, Singapore, Taiwan, Thailand and Vietnam
**North Europe: Great Britain, Ireland, Belgium, Luxembourg, Netherlands, France, Germany, Austria, Switzerland, Czech Republic, Hungary, Slovakia, Estonia, Lithuania, Latvia, Denmark, Finland, Iceland, Norway, Poland, Sweden
***Mediterranean: Spain, Portugal, Italy, Algeria, Morocco, Malta, Tunisia, Albania, Bulgaria, Croatia, Georgia, Greece, Israel, Montenegro, Libya, Romania, Cyprus, Slovenia, Lebanon, Turkey, Ukraine, Egypt
