The Inspection Fee at Destination is mandatory for Congo and Guinea imports. Here's what you need to know

We want to make sure that you keep yourself updated with the latest charges at Congo and Guinea. If you're shipping into these countries, please keep in mind that the Inspection Fee Destination (IFD) is a mandatory charge imposed by the governments in these countries.

With your cargo planning in mind, please keep the following information handy:

  • IFD is a mandatory pass-through charge that covers cargo scanning at destination, in this case Congo and Guinea
  • This government-mandated charge must be paid with the ocean freight at the origin country, therefore, it is a prepaid charge.
  • IFD for Congo is EUR 160 for 20' containers, and EUR 210 for 40' containers.
  • IFD for Guinea is EUR 155 for 20' containers, and EUR 195 for 40' containers.

To view the details of the related IFD, including the amounts and additional information, please visit our local charges page under Africa, and download the Congo and Guinea local charges' documents. If you should require additional information, please contact our customer service team at your location, who will guide you based on your individual situation.
