我们的战略计划 2023

 

Our industry has undergone significant changes within the last years. Since 2014 it has gone through a strong wave of consolidation resulting in today’s landscape of fewer and larger players. Hapag-Lloyd has been a very active driver in this process, after having successfully integrated CSAV, UASC and NileDutch. We embark on our journey of implementing and living our ”Strategy 2023” whilst focusing on sustainability and delivering better quality to our shipping customers.

We are convinced that delivering a high quality service is the way forward. To be number one for quality is the ultimate promise to our customers and a strong differentiator from our competitors. For that we have defined several quality promises that are formulated in concrete terms, make our success measurable and create transparency.

Our Strategy 2023 has four overarching goals

Be Profitable

Prove we can earn our cost of capital through the cycle (ROIC > WACC), sustain a healthy capital structure while investing in the future of our business.

Global Player

Keep our global market share of > 10% in all our key trades (excl. Intra-Asia) reinforce our strongholds and expand further into selected growth markets.

Number One for Quality

Achieve best in class customer experience for our main customer segments, be customer-oriented, stabilize
reliability and create value for customers as well as for Hapag-Lloyd.

Sustainability

Drive decarbonisation in the industry; reducing carbon intensity by 30% (EEOI) until 2030, reach ‘net-zero carbon’ by 2045.

Our Strategic Journey

 

This strategy is a journey for the upcoming years – until 2023. A journey we want to do together: With our customers, since they are at the centre of this journey, as a company and of course with our employees.

Our Vision: To be the benchmark of the container shipping industry, setting the quality standard, thereby offering unrivalled levels of reliability and service quality to our customers.
