Hapag-Lloyd first entered the Malaysia market in the 1970s, represented by agency Anglo-French Forwarding Sdn Bhd, initially with a focus on Europe. Over the years the service network was expanded to America and Asia.

Hapag-Lloyd subsequently established its own office as Hapag-Lloyd Malaysia Sdn Bhd in 1997, with head office located in Kuala Lumpur, as well as branch offices and agents in 13 strategic ports in Malaysia and Brunei including Port Klang, Penang, Pasir Gudang, Kuantan, Kuching, Miri, Kota Kinabalu, Bintulu, Sandakan, Tawau, Sibu, Labuan and Muara, covering shipping and logistics needs for Malaysia Industrial and Economic corridors, as well as hinterlands.

Today, Hapag-Lloyd is one of the top global ocean carriers in the shipping industry with over 40 years of presence in the Malaysia market. We provide world-wide coverage to and from Europe, North America, Latin America, Africa, and Asia. Hapag-Lloyd has a highly specialised reefer fleet and in addition offers a variety of general and special equipment to cater to general and project cargo.
