Vessel Call & Terminal Admission (Leixoes, Lisbon and Sines)
In Portuguese ports, the port call will be opened between 5 and 7 days before ETA. The customers can check the announcements using the following link: ANUNCIO CONTENTOR (Only valid for TCL Leixoes and Liscont).

Note: To deliver full units at terminals, all customers are responsible for checking if the port call is open directly with the terminal before sending their truckers at port.
- Announcement as export warehouse: In case that your shipment will be delivered without customs clearance and your company will issue this document later at the port, please send an email to [email protected] informing the booking number + container number that needs to be announced as Export Warehouse.
NOTE: This service of export warehouse is not available at SOTAGUS due to terminal decision.
STRIKE ANNOUNCEMENT
Please note that a strike has been called in Portugal by the Port Administration Workers Union. The strike is scheduled as follows:
From 02.06.2026 – 00:00 hours to 04.06.2026 – 24:00 hours
The strike may affect tug and pilot boat crews and other port services, likely impacting vessel maneuvers and schedules, as these crews are union members. The action is related to resuming negotiations on workers’ contracts and benefits and applies to all Portuguese ports.

At Hapag-Lloyd, we are committed to providing transparent and efficient service. Below are important updates regarding booking procedures, documentation processes, and import operations in Portugal.
1. Booking Procedures
Booking Amendments & Cancellations
- All booking amendments should be submitted online via the Hapag-Lloyd Navigator.
- Requests submitted online receive priority and are free of charge.
- Amendments sent via email will incur an extra cost according to our Local Surcharges.
- Customers can request:
- Booking cancellations
- Changes to container quantity, routing, mode of transport, and vessel
- Changes managed directly by Customer Service:
- Assigned container requests
- Dangerous Goods
- Reefer cargo
- Food grade and beverages
- Cork
- Consolidated cargo
- Change of Destination (COD) requests after containers arrive at the terminal.
Global Policy on Booking Changes
- Certain booking details cannot be changed, including:
- Quotation number
- Named account details
- Commodity type
- If changes are needed, the booking must be canceled and rebooked.
Dangerous Goods (DG) Process in Portugal
- Booking requests for dangerous goods (DG) must include full IMO documentation, submitted to [email protected]
- Incomplete documentation will result in booking cancellation within 48 hours.
Customs Clearance in Portuguese Ports
- The customs clearance number should be informed through the shipping instructions. For any doubts or additional support, please contact our CSS Customs department: [email protected] ; [email protected] .
Customs Clearance in Spanish Ports
- For the Spanish ports like Algeciras, Malaga, Tarragona, Gijon, Bilbao and Vigo, the customs clearance documents should be sent to our email [email protected] and adding the following email depending on the Port of loading:

Vessel cut off & Shipping instructions
· As it is already mentioned in our Booking confirmations, to avoid unnecessary rollovers, please ensure to provide the container number within 3 working days before ETA of the vessel and to complete the customs formalities within 2 working days before ETA of the vessel.
2. Documentation Procedures
Bill of Lading (BL) Draft Approval & Amendments
- From June 26, 2023, all BL draft amendments must be submitted online via the BL Draft Approval tool.
- Email requests will not be processed; only EDI and online submissions are accepted.
- Draft BL approvals allow for quick, efficient corrections without the need for printing or emailing.
Courier Costs for Documentation
- From July 22, 2024, Hapag-Lloyd will no longer cover courier costs for BL and documentation delivery.
- Customers must provide their own courier account details or arrange pickup from our offices.
3. Import Procedures
- In case your company will take the responsibility to apply the import logistics process (Pick up the full container + payments) and it is not reflected in the BL as consignee, you need to complete our “Cession Letter”, this document should be signed and stamped by the consignee.

- Customers must send requests at least 24 hours before delivery, indicating "INLAND", along with the discharge location and date.
