Certified Pick Up general information

CPU (Certified Pick up) platform receives commercial release from the shipping line.  The shipping line provides the initial release to the FRP (First Release Party). The FRP can re-transfer the release to the next party in the logistics chain.  This can be another forwarder but in most cases it will be the transport company.  Once a trucking company receives the release right, they can generate a digital pick up right as soon as they assign the transport to a specific driver.  A truck driver is assigned through this Alfapass ID (general access card to access terminals in Port of Antwerp).  Releases rights for barge and rail pick up will work on company identification.

Together with the transfer of release rights, all participants in CPU will see traffic lights

  • Commercial release from shipping line received?
  • Terminal - container discharged and available for pick up?
  • Customs : is the container cleared for customs?

An orange traffic light will be instated for containers selected by customs for scanning.

Current status Certified Pick Up project

CPU is currently in early pilotstage.  Until further notice, containers are still to be picked up with the traditional system of pincodes.
