India - Restriction on import of peas - Update

In reference to our CustomerNews dated June 9, 2019, we are pleased to inform you that the Government of India has since amended its policy on the imports of seeds of peas.

As per the Government of India’s Directorate General of Foreign Trade Notification No. 09/2015-2020 dated June 25, 2019, the import policy of seeds of Peas is amended from ‘Restricted’ to ‘Free’ subject to phytosanitary import conditions as per Plant Quarantine (Regulation of Imports into India), Order 2003.

As such, Hapag-Lloyd no longer requires a Letter of Indemnity (LOI) at the time of booking.
