India - Last Day of Peas Import - Fiscal Year 2019-20

For good order's sake, we would like to confirm that October 31, 2019 had been determined as last date of import of pulses for the fiscal year 2019-20.

This is evident from Trade Notice No. 32/2019-2020 issued by the Government of India on September 11, 2019.

The notice explicitly states that shipments of Pigeon Peas (Cajanus cajan)/Toor dal, Moong dal, Urad dal and Peas had to meet arrival date at Indian ports latest by October 31 2019, and that no relief of extension on quota of import for millers can be granted.

Importers are kindly requested to adhere to the rules and guidelines put forth by the Director General of Foreign Trade to avoid containers being withheld during Customs clearance and subsequent accrual of destination charges such as port storage, container detention and other related fees.

Please be guided that all shipments of the said commodity will not be accepted anymore for the fiscal year 2019-20.
