Canada and United States: Electronic Booking Amendments

We would like to remind you that making online booking amendments is possible at Hapag-Lloyd.com, via EDI or your preferred e-platform.

While you are able to contact us via telephone and email, you are strongly encouraged to communicate your booking amendment needs with us using our Online Business Features.

Please note that your amendment needs to be made via the same platform on which you made the original booking.

Advantages to placing booking amendments online vs. other manual methods include:

• Record keeping under each individual booking so that nothing is missed
• Reduction of errors
• Faster response and turn times.

The following list are examples of booking amendments:

• Weight Change
• Temperature, humidity, ventilation change
• Link SOC Unit
• Cancellation
• Vessel Change
• Add / Reduce Number of Container
• Change Container type
• Routing change

What and how to change when using our Online Business.
Log into Hapag-Lloyd.com.

• Under “My Shipments” or “List of Shipments” please choose the booking to be amended then click “Update Booking”.
• Then click on “Edit Customs and Remarks” and type into the free text field your amendment instructions; for example, ‘Please roll to next vessel’ or ‘Add one more 20FT container’, etc.
• Then click   “Submit Booking”
• There is no need to change any of the fields in the booking; the changes required are simply typed in the remarks section only.
