Here’s an update for Weight Deviation Fee (FIO) for India Export Cargo

On July 12, 2021 we shared the news about the introduction of the Weight Deviation Fee (FIO) for Export Cargo. We would like to remind you that FIO will be applied if the weight deviation between the booking and shipping instructions exceeds three tons.

Please find below a more detailed explanation:

  1. For shipments with a single container, FIO will apply if the weight deviation exceeds three tons at a container level.
  2. For shipments with multiple containers, FIO will apply if the total weight of all containers at a shipment level deviates by more than three tons between booking and shipping instruction. If the total weight deviates by more than three tons, then the charge will be applied at a container level, for containers with a deviation that exceeds three tons.

We would also like to remind you that this charge is applicable to export shipments at the time of loading in India. If you should require additional information, please contact our customer service team at your location who will guide you based on your individual situation.
