We regret to inform you that during normal operations of the Sofia Express, deployed in our Pacific North Loop 4 (PN4) service two members of the crew tested positive for COVID-19 while the vessel was at anchor at the port of Vancouver.
Local authorities were duly notified and the mariners were immediately isolated and brought to a quarantine facility ashore. We are hoping for a speedy recovery. All other crew members on the vessel are being monitored and tested as deemed appropriate by the authorities.
Please note that the vessel’s berthing in Vancouver was already delayed due to terminal congestion but both loading and discharging operations have been finalized. The situation involving the crew has further changed the vessel’s schedule and the ship is expected to continue her voyage shortly towards Pusan. We will provide new updates in that regard as needed.
Please be assured that we are closely monitoring the situation and will continue to do our utmost to safeguard the health and well-being of all of our seafarers during the pandemic.
