- PSA: Labour is stable with 70% availability unchanged from last week.The yard situation at PSA Q913 is at 85%, the empty park currently decreased to 80% and the reefer stack utilization is stable at 60%.Yard for Q869 stable at 70% with reefers unchanged at 81%. The empty park has increased to critical level.
- Europe Container Terminals (ECT): Due to COVID related quarantine or sick leave 15 % less gang availability. Yard level DDE/DDN increased compared to last week with reefer plugs manageable.
- Rotterdam World Gateway (RWG): Gang availability is unchanged at 85% due to COVID related impacts. The yard situation has increased to above 100% with reefer stacks put under pressure with the weekly CES call. Cargo opening time for the acceptance of export cargo at RWG is 8 days in advance of vessel ETA. RWG affected by high dwell times of import cargo.
- Southampton Port (SOU): Currently reaching 7-8 gangs with 10 required, no improvement compared to last week with 7 positive reported cases. Yard currently at critical 96% impeding productivity. Reefers at 90% and MT’s at 80%. Cargo opening time for the acceptance of export cargo is now 7 days in advance of vessels ETA. FE2 and FE3 vessels affected by low productivity with extended port stays and waiting times outside. One GC crane out for repairs at the designated THEA pier reducing max crane availability to 4.
- London Gateway Port (LGP): Gang availability generally good – no issues. Yard utilization increased at is between 82% - 90%. Still limits all lines for their MT volumes in the yard, currently HL MT’s at 100%. Reefers at 61%. At the moment all vessels have a berth window including empty loaders.
- Container Terminal Altenwerder (CTA): Labour availability at 75% - 80% (9-10 gangs per shift) due to COVID related issues. Yard utilisation at a high 86%. Retrofitting of terminal equipment affecting one stacking crane (4% of yard capacity, total of 26 blocks). Scheduled inspection/maintenance of steel for all 14 GC is planned for Q1/2022 and started with first GC being under maintenance.
- Container Terminal Burchardkai (CTB): Labour availability has decreased to 70-85% (10-12 gangs per shift), COVID related reason. Yard increased to 90% utilization with 65% empties. Planned works on berth 1 and 2 as from 17th of January started and are already impacting current vessel line up with one berth not available.
Dredging works of the river Elbe completed with allowance for a higher draft. New official drafts applicable from
January 24, 2022.
G.M.P. Le Havre, France
- Yard utilization is at 100% which is having an negative impact on terminal operations. Reefer stacks are still at 100%. Slots for truck rendezvous are completely sold out days in advance, so even if a specific vessel is open for export delivery, trucks cannot enter the yard due to missing slots. Planned berth rail tracks maintenance will effect GMP for one month. This will lead to higher waiting times and berth congestion.
Area North (Poland, Denmark, Sweden and Finland)
- Area North is facing a lack of 20’ Standard Units in Poland (Gliwice and Brzeg Dolny). In addition, capacities are becoming tight, e.g. in the region around Gądki due to a lack of drivers (Covid). Other issues are connected to port/terminals and stormy weather, delays in the transport network, postponed loadings etc.
Area Germany & Central Europe
- Ongoing delays and disruptions affecting entire train network from and to German seaports. Travel times on the regular route are extended, loading may be interrupted and trains may be laid up at short notice. However, situation will be reassessed on daily basis and measures to be communicated proactively. In addition, Area is facing some capacity constraints with regards to reefer at CTT, Hamburg. Apart from the points mentioned, no further worsening of the situation in the German hinterland in week 03/2022.
- The water level is back to normal and CW/CR sailings are going well. No impact on the first and last mile. Equipment situation in Germany is tight. Close cooperation with South Germany required but Area Benelux is still able to cover all customer demands.
Congestions in seaports of Rotterdam and Antwerp are still huge and also affected due to winter weather and fog. Slight backlog of units to be transported.
- Improvement in terms of overall capacities for hinterland transportation. However, there are some problems with the lack of equipment, especially in the western part of France, leading to a stronger focus on CH releases. The Port terminal congestion and related gate restrictions are still in place for TDF and Eurofos, but are having less of an impact on the operations compared to the end of 2021. Overall hinterland and port situation rather manageable.
Area United Kingdom/Ireland
- Storage of both empty and laden exports now becoming a serious issue. Ports are still running at near full capacities and less and less yard availability at empty depots. Area UK/Ireland now also have several off dock storage areas and looking to increase these further. Empty storage at rail terminal now also being affected due to build-up of long term loaded boxes. On the trucking side, capacities remain a tough challenge.
Apart from the points mentioned, no further worsening of the situation in UK/Ireland in week 3/2022.
No impact to report besides the following exceptions:
